Students and teachers of Mushindo would like to acknowledge the enormous contribution made by the late Nagaboshi Tomio, posthumously and affectionately known as Daishifu (Great Shifu). Daishifu dedicated his whole life to Mushindo after receiving the teachings at a very young age. In the face of many personal tragedies and unfounded criticisms, which would have deterred the average man, Daishifu continued to eloquently transmit the Mushindo traditional teachings to the very last.
The Daishifu Gorinto
Members from all over the world have contributed to the erection of a traditional Gorinto (stupa) sculpted from granite in China, transported to the United Kingdom and dedicated to Daishifu. The quintolith has been erected at a monastery in the UK and now serves as a focal point for the continuation of the Mushindo teachings and lineage. A ceremony was held in honour of Daishifu and to erect the Stupa containing Daishifu's ashes and Mushindo relics on the 29th October 2008. - Biography
